I am so excited to be back in San Diego, as I only managed to spend two days here on my last visit, which isn’t enough to do justice to this amazing place, which is the final stop on the drive down the PCH (just before the Mexican border).

Outfit of the day: Street-Style San Diego

The heart of San Diego is the downtown district, which encompasses the historic Gasslamp Quarter, with a wide variety of restaurants, art galleries and boutiques.

These photos are taken in San Diego Old Town, but you should also take a trolley bus out to Balboa Park, home of the San Diego Zoo, beautiful gardens and numerous museums.

Read on for more photos* of Street-Style San Diego and some more ideas of what to do in San Diego.

And when the sun goes down, the city’s Gaslamp Quarter comes alive, with its array of restaurants, rooftop bars and nightclubs.

Of course, you can always chill on one of the great beaches and to finish your trip you can get an incredible view of San Diego and the bay from the Cabrillo National Monument at the tip of Point Loma.

The city’s classiest beach area is “La Jolla”, which has the well-deserved nickname of  the “jewel of Southern California”. This quaint Mediterranean-style village is just a few minutes drive from downtown, but it has a totally different feel, and you should definitely go to see the seals and sea lions at  La Jolla Cove! See maxi-skirts and seals for more information on La Jolla and the pupping season.

I could go on, but I will do another post in the travel section soon on ‘What to do in San Diego’.
