My new product this week is the Emma Hardie Midas Touch Serum. I have read rave reviews about this serum and so have been wanting to try it for a while.

So, when I saw the special offer in Marks and Spencer, where if you spend £50 on Emma Hardie you received a free gift of a 15 ml Moringa Cleansing Balm with cleansing cloth (in a perfect package for hanging on the Christmas tree), combined with the advent calendar offer (purchase for £25 when you spend £25 on beauty), I decided that fate was encouraging me to try this product now !

Emma Hardie Midas Touch Serum

If you’re a fan of Greek mythology you will have heard the legend whereby whatever King Midas touched would turn to shining gold. Although I neither expect nor would wish my face to turn to gold on using this serum , both the name and the claims suggest that I should see significant improvements in my skin.

The claims

The Midas Touch Serum contains a potent blend of collagen boosting and skin firming properties, and claims to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as strengthening and hydrating the skin.

One of the factors that encouraged me to try this product was the fact that the serum can also be used around the entire eye area, including the lid to ensure your eye area looks radiant, toned and bright and who doesn’t need that !

The science

Ingredients of the Midas Touch Serum include:

  • Edelweiss Miristem cell culture to help decrease fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Vivillume extract from Wild Banana Seed Extract, designed to improve radiance and diminish under-eye puffiness
  • Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil to uplift the senses and calm the skin (apparently also helping with rosacea)
  • Retilactyl D from Pepper Fruit Extract, to stimulate production of hyaluronic acid in the skin
  • Hyaluronic Acid to attract and retain moisture

How to use the Midas Touch Serum

Apply a few drops morning or night to a cleansed face, neck and décolleté.

The pros

  • The product is very easy to apply, with a targeted dispenser, so there is no wastage
  • As mentioned before, it can be used on the whole eye area, saving on a separate eye serum
  • The serum has a lovely light texture and is easily absorbed into the skin
  • It can be mixed with your foundation for extra luminosity

I haven’t been using it for long enough to claim any significant change in my skin but I will know more in a few months

The cons

  • The serum came in an enormous tin box, which whilst it was very impressive was also very wasteful as I ended up throwing it away (before I even took a photo unfortunately!)

I haven’t yet tried the Moringa Cleansing Balm as it is on the Christmas tree, but if you would like to know more about this then have a look at this link.

To purchase either of these products, you can look on Space NK or Marks & Spencers, or Look Fantastic .
