Welcome back to the Velvet Runway and this post about what to wear for a Weekend Getaway. Today is the last day of the Instagram May Style Challenge, which I have been co-hosting with 4 other bloggers – and it’s been amazing fun.  Have a look at my Instagram feed and check out some of the outfits and if you look at the hashtag, you will be able to see the posts from all the other fabulous bloggers too! (You will also be able to see some of them on the blog next week!)

Weekend Getaway

Yesterday’s theme was “Weekend Getaway“, so I am going through my outfit here. The main feature of this look is my oversize bag from Mickael Kors (well it’s oversize to me!), as I can fit everything I need into this bag for a weekend away.

Read on for my tips on choosing a weekend getaway outfit.

As you can see, the bag is big enough to hold everything I need for a weekend away, particularly as I chose a tan waterfall suede jacket and low-heeled tan and gold sandals, which I can then co-ordinate with my other outfits for the weekend.

All my clothes here are from last season or even older, but I have tried to find similar in the shops this year.

The tan waterfall suede jacket is from Gerard Darel (similar here), the cream top is from Pablo (similar here), the skirt is from Massimo Dutti (and I haven’t been able to find similar – if you find a similar one please let me know!!!), the sandals are from Jonark , the bag is from Mickael Kors and the belt is from Primark (and one of my best ever bargains!)

If you want to see more of the Style Challenge, then have a look at my Instagram feed and if you want to play along remember to use the hashtag (see my Instagram photo today for details).

I hope you enjoyed this feature about dressing for a Weekend Getaway, and have a look here for more of our style features.
