Custom Cases and CaseApp Giveaway **

Have you ever wanted to design your own phone case or laptop skin and have it personalised just for you? Thanks to CaseApp, I was able to do just this!

I decided to design a laptop skin and a customised phone case, but, being an unadventurous person, I decided to use one of the ready made templates on the CaseApp site. However, should you be feeling more adventurous, you can upload one of your favourite holiday photos (or any other image you like!) and use this as the base for your customised cover.

The design process is really easy, first select your template (or upload your own design)  and then you can add your own photo, logo, or text onto the case. Again, you can use one of the ready made clipart’s or design your own.

For my iPhone case, I chose a really simple, classic, white marble background, and decided to keep the design minimalistic. I chose to add just a single palm tree (from the predesigned clipart) as a logo (to reflect my love for travel and because I really miss LA!). I then added my blog name ‘The Velvet Runway’ in the middle of the phone case.

You can place the texts, clipart etc. wherever you want, change the font, adjust the size and move them around until you get a design that you are happy with, and the design platform also tells you if the quality of the image you want to place is sufficient. I actually played around with several designs before settling on this one, and even added pictures of the beach, my dog, food and all sorts of clipart. You can really make the case as simple or as personalised as you choose!

CaseApp offer cases in different sizes as well as cases for Samsung phones and skins for Nokia phones if you aren’t an Apple person.

For my laptop, I chose an even simpler design, just a minimalist black marble skin. I didn’t add any clipart or logo, as I wanted something that looked sleek and polished.  The skin (which is sized perfectly to fit your laptop) has to be peeled off it’s backing paper, lined up and stuck on to the laptop. Despite the fact that it looked like a simple process, I waited until my daughter was home to help me, as I figured two pairs of hands were safer than one!

The tricky part is aligning the skin with the laptop, so take your time and don’t stick it until you’re sure it’s in the right place! As it’s not a case, it doesn’t add any additional thickness or weight to the laptop.
