I recently spent a weekend in Dusseldorf and discovered the botanical gardens out towards the University campus. It really is a beautiful setting and the perfect place to indulge my obsession with everything floral, including floral prints!

I recently spent a weekend in Dusseldorf, which is a great place to spend some time! The town itself is very lively and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from (particularly in the Old Town). However, I chose to take these photos in the botanical gardens (partly as I didn’t want to have to get up early enough to avoid the crowds and partly because it is a really beautiful location for photos!).

The centrepiece of the garden is an 18 m tall dome, which houses a wide range of plant species from regions with warm, dry summers and rainy winters. Along with the characteristic vegetation of the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands, plants from Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and California are on show here.

Entrance to the botanical gardens is free and it is also a lovely place to relax and read a book.
