So, this year, in the interest of my waistline and my skin I have decided to swop the standard chocolate advent calendar for a beauty version.
So, instead of piling on the pounds (which will happen anyway without the help of a chocolate advent calendar), I am going to give myself a daily beauty treat instead!
The key decision is therefore which one, as so many of the top beauty brands are producing their own calendar, containing treats from nail files, to make-up to skin care and even perfume.
Here are a few of my favourite beauty advent calendars 2016, depending on your budget!
Beauty Advent Calendars 2016
Sanctuary Spa, (£25)
After much deliberating, this is the advent calendar that I finally selected, and as you can see from the above photo, I have already started to look behind the doors, and I have not been disappointed
Each door has a Sanctuary spa treat behind it, including a lovely eye mask, the Sanctuary Foaming Creamy Bath Soak, a Radiance Exfoliator, a Micellar Cleansing water, a luxurious body butter and a thermal detox mask.
Charlotte Tilbury’s World of Legendary Parties (£150)
At £150, Charlotte Tilbury’s calendar is undoubtedly one of the most expensive of my picks, and contains only 12 products. However, these products comprise mainly her best-selling hero products (including the Wonderglow Skin Primer, the Multi Miracle Glow, the Magic Cream Moisturiser, a Mini Goddess Skin Clay Mask as well as a full sized eyeshadow and lipstick, so it’s the perfect way to try some of her range.
MAKEUP REVOLUTION Beauty Advent Calendar from Superdrug (£30)
This calendar is currently on promotion (reduced from £40 to £30) and contains a selection of six lipsticks, 2 lip glosses, 3 mono eyeshadows, 2 blushers, 1 bronzer, 1 highlighter and make – up brushes.
DECLEOR advent calendar (£60)

The Clarins beauty calendar, as you would expect, contains a selection of their iconic products, such as the Beauty Flash Balm, the Instant Eye Make-Up remover, the Hand & Nail treatment, a detox booster (perfect for the party season), the Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base and a selection of mini makeup treats. You can find it here for £95.
Clarins Men also have a calendar, called the ’12 Days of Christmas’, filled with all the favourites from Clarins Men.
Molton Brown (£150)
Moton Brown’s luxury calendar contains mini-versions of bath and shower gels, body lotions, hand washes, body polishers, scented candles and more.
I have only recently discovered the NYX brand, through their liquid lipsticks (which by the way have amazing staying power!), and you can now get 24 of their hero beauty products in this advent calendar.
The Ciaté advent mini manicure calendar is, again as you would expect, packed with manicure treats and includes 18 mini bottles, 1 full sized nail polish, two nail toppers and a treatment to keep nails in top condition (the new ‘Nail Saviour’).
The Body Shop, (£60/£80/£99)

If you or someone you know is a fan of Jack Wills then this advent calendar is a must! The calendar itself is super cute and the drawers are filled with a mix of skincare, hair and nail care goodies.
The calendar is priced at £35 (and is included in Boots 3 for 2 offer) and available from Boots now.
Of course, as I was doing this post I realised that I have left it a bit late and that some of these calendars have now sold out. I think next year I need to plan this post about a month earlier. There are also many other beauty advent calendars out there and this list is not exhaustive.
